Back In Time

Couldn't resist taking a quick picture of my favorite drink...Dr.Pepper & it's original Ice Box.

Station is filled with antique Filling Station wares...it's like stepping back into time...kept looking for Gomer Pile to clean the window.
This quaint little town of "Waring, Texas"is just north of San Antonio on IH 10. Pop. 50? Just kidding. I don't really know though, but it's a frequent stop for picture takers and weekend Bikers. No real shopping, just a quiet place to stop, relax, eat and think about how our parents lived way back when.

Hello, thanks so much for stopping by. Your occupation sounds interesting and the fact that you stop to pick up things means we having something in common. Wait till you see my post next week on this or maybe tonight, but soon. Do you ever come out to the big antique shows, Round Top/Warrenton, if so I'd love to meet you. Happy Sunday, Theresa

Hi Theresa,
Grew up watching my folks routing thru junk filled boxes and antique stores. Always was encouraged to find something interesting, collect or make it if I couldn't find it. Guess that's why I turned to Decorative painting & design.
I often go up to Warrenton at least once a year...mostly the fall, when a bit cooler. Have loved seeing & watching the place grow for the past 20+ years since I started going. Looked over your calender, and hoping to get to Austin in Aug. ...will let you know when plans are definite, any new interesting trends you'd like to share?

Hey there! Thanks for dropping by. It appears we both know what hard work is judging from what you do as an artist. Nothing worthwhile get's done without though does it? Love this post. I can remember old coolers like this from way way back.

I wanted to say how much I love your Murals! How long have you been painting?

Hi Gina,
I've been painting as a profession since 1990, all by accident when I was commissioned to do some private works. From there, I realized that I could make a living from my joy. My folks said I was painting or drawing on my walls since I was a child...to the point they had me cleaning up or they painted over my room.
Now I get paid for it...go figure?

Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Nice to "meet" you! I hope to visit you here often - may i add you to my Blog list? I LOVE the old Dr. Pepper Ice box Photo - my dad used to own a grocery store (family business) in Texas so I know those old coolers are fabulous! Wish I had one on the front porch - filled with ice cold DP's! Hugs new friend and thanks again for saying hello! xoxo Sher

Sherri,
I'm so happy you checked in, as you can see I'm fairly new to Blogging, so I'm, trying to figure out what to post, especially pictures...since I have to many hobbies. With yours and others help, I can narrow my choices.
I would be so honored if you added my site to yours,...that's really exciting.I'll do the same if thats o.k?
P.S. My Dad used to work for Dr.Pepper in the 60's, so we always look for those soft drink memorabilia, I even have his old work shirt with the famous clock logo on it...I have to say... Dr.Pepper runs in my blood :>)
Your new friend,
Denise

Hi,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
These pictures are wonderful...what a fun place!

And I'm completely in love with the vintage purses in the previous post! I've had my eye on a brown and clear lucite one at a local antique shop, for a while now. And your bakelite collection is fabulous!

Kimberly :)
